Who is this Sarah person that would like to take on San Fran? I bet that is what you’re asking yourself. Well she is me. I am 27 and a self-proclaimed ‘running boss’ who has joined Team in Training to take on the Nike Women’s half marathon while raising awareness for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada (LLSC).

Why? Well why not run for a great cause! A wonderful friend of mine did the full marathon last year and suggested I jump on board for this year and so together we will be running the half marathon. Make sure to check out her progress at http://nataliedoes42k.com/

Another reason is because currently there are over 100,000 people living with, or in remission from, a blood cancer in Canada. One person dies every 76 minutes from a blood cancer and in 2012 18,150 Canadian were diagnosed with a blood cancer. The LLSC’s mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

I hope that you will support my journey through the hills of San Francisco while I continue with my training and fundraising.
